OCR: The ideal situation for the compact camera carried ready to use in the pocket. The child had fallen in a rather muddy puddle, and his brother was showing some sympathy. If the camera had not been immediately ready then the picture would have gone within a few seconds. Keen photographers always carry a camera, and even the person with a serious outfit could well make use of a good quality, and small camera, always in the pocket. I have use of an Olympus XA2, now sadly discontinued. It is very small, but I can get 16X12 inch prints from it ! The picture on the left is not so easy, regardless of how good the compact is. This set piece could just be managed with a zoom compact at 70 to 90 mm, but the lighting has been arranged with multiple flash and reflectors. If you reach the point of doing this kind of shot, then the only answer is to spend some money on an SLR outfit !!
